Financial Controller Jobs

We are in need of a Financial Controller to join our team located east of London, Ontario. As a key member of the Management Team you will manage the day-to day financial operaitons of a group of companies and produce consolidated financial statements, financial analysis and deptailed project costing reports.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as a strategic financial partner to assist the management team in all critical business decisions, lead capital investment project planning, strengthen internal controls, etc.
• Acts as liaison with internal and external accountants as required
• Ability to assist with day-to-day IT issues at the direction of outsourced IT consultants
• Responsible for set up and maintenance of Software programs
• Monitor cash flow and manage timing of payments across 4 companies
• Generate financial and production reporting packages including variance analysis and commentary vs budget, and facilitate ongoing discussions around cost control
• Develops/maintains/improves timely and accurate information systems which aid in planning, control, and management of the operation
• Communicate financial metrics to senior management
• Provide employee coaching, development and training
• Participate in the development of and support of the company’s strategic plans
• Supervise and provide leadership and support to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and assigned administrative personnel
• Actively involved in achieving strategic goals and continuous improvement objectives as outlined in the Business Plan
• Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
• Assist with yearend budget process and quarterly forecast
• Lead month end close of financial statements using the percentage completion method of accounting
• Willingness to tackle and resolve a wide range of issues with minimal guidance
• Provide overall support specifically to the Management Team and organization
• Assist with various HR functions and manage payrolls
• Creation of financial models using excel (Power pivot, pivot tables, Vlookup) for job costs reports and budgets and other ad hoc analysis
• Monitor the financial performance of the company and analyze financial reporting packages

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 7 years of experience as a Financial Controller
• Excellent time management, project management and organizational skills
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, audit techniques, financial reporting standards, budgeting procedures and cost control systems
• Excellent, proven interpersonal and leadership skills to engage and build a positive work environment
• CA, CPA - Chartered Professional Accountant Designation
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical skills, ability to communicate clearly and concisely
• Bachelor's Degree in Management Accounting,
• Advanced knowledge of SAP in Financial Accounting, Controlling and Material Management modules, Advanced Excel
