Overview


Ensure safe, day to day operations, maintenance and quality of AF from the Geocycle pre-processing facility at Brookfield. The Incumbent will provide leadership in the optimization of Alternate Fuels & Raw Materials (AFR) use in the manufacturing process. In addition, the incumbent will manage and maintain business relationships with external customers and carriers contributing to a consistent seamless flow of Alternate Fuels & Raw Materials to the pre-processing facility and plant. The incumbent will also coordinate and align with the Brookfield Cement plant management and ensure compliance with the service level agreement (SLA).


Responsibilities


Safety:


  • Serve as a role model in the areas of safety, leadership, teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors.
  • Ensure that waste acceptance criteria are properly followed.
  • Ensure adherence to AFR OH&S directives
  • Support local businesses with Contractor Safety Management (CSM) compliance and training, and third party pre-qualification platform process simplification and accountability on deliverables.
  • Ensure ACert compliance.


Site Management


  • Responsible for daily/routine operation of the ARM & AFR program at Geocycle Brookfield monitoring inventory levels, ensuring optimum utilization of space, and proper inventory rotation based on “first in/first out” principle.
  • Pre process waste inbound material and deliver material to co-processing within terms of the SLA signed between plant and platform.
  • Responsible for operational safety & effective use of resources to minimize cost and maximize feed to the kiln operations.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for site management of fuel unloading, pre-processing and transfer station; including, material receiving and load documentation, inventory tracking, delivery orders, environmental and safety compliance, and routine repairs of both the pre-processing and liquid fuel facility. Manage routine daily operation of the pre-processing facility in accordance with established procedures and schedules.


Quality & AFR Management


  • Responsible for accurate analysis, evaluation, and handling of materials received at the pre-processing platform and compliance to AF quality as per SLA.
  • Coordinates the QA/QC program with the cement plant.


Maintenance


  • Organize (preventive) maintenance on machinery to ensure high availability of production line.
  • Ensure efficient manpower utilization and maintenance regimes and repairs.


Logistics Management


  • Oversee AFR receptions with internal and external customers, and carriers.
  • Coordinate and complete calibration and repairs of analytical equipment to maintain functionality and accuracy for all AFR streams.
  • Provide onsite leadership to all vendors and haulers that bring Alternate Fuels & Raw Materials to the plant, directing traffic, ensuring uninterrupted flow of traffic, etc.
  • Responsible for management of fuel unloading and transfer station; including, material receiving and load documentation, inventory tracking, delivery orders, environmental and safety compliance, and routine repairs.


Leadership


  • Interact and promote efficient teamwork with plant personnel.
  • Provide professional and development/coaching to Geocycle & plant resources on a frequent basis and where required clarify roles and responsibilities for the Geocycle operations.


Reporting & Performance


  • Ensure the implementation and tracking of performance indicators and achieved results.
  • Ensure AFR information is accurately captured into WFMS, SAP, etc and drive compliance with permitted requirements at all times.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to local and regional management as required.
  • Produce AFR reports and analysis, and give feedback to Sales Managers (co-processing Mgr), regarding profitability of each stream, as well as advise discontinuing of streams and re-negotiate economics in case some streams are not generated good EBITDA or GAV.


Business Development


  • Develops and manages a portfolio of fuels and raw materials to achieve the best sustainable value for the Brookfield cement operation and balance day-to-day management of existing accounts and waste streams with market development to secure new opportunities.


Relationship With Others


  • Interact with team members on a regular basis to gather or communicate information, solve problems and meet deadlines.
  • Work with sales and customers to meet their needs and communicate our position. Main contact between Geocycle and the Brookfield Cement Plant

Qualifications


Educational & Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering, Logistics or Chemistry
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience within a logistics, waste management or industrial environment.
