Job Description
Stellar Personnel is working with a leading restaurant located in Napanee, Ontario. Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Executive Head Chef with 5+ years of experience, formal technical training and Red Seal qualification or equivalent experience.
Job Overview
The role of the Executive Head Chef is to manage the kitchen and ensure the menu is executed ensuring a high level of performance, guest satisfaction and profitability. The Executive Head Chef oversees all kitchen operations, plans and prices menu items, orders supplies, keeps records and accounts and ensures health, safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.
The Executive Head Chef is responsible for the overall efficient management of the kitchen.
General Responsibilities
  • Modify work procedures or processes to meet deadlines
  • Oversee and check all purchased supplies for quality and account for each delivered item
  • Analyze recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food, labour, and overhead costs
  • Investigate customer complaints
  • Monitor performance of all kitchen staff and apply corrective measures as required.
  • Meet with customers to discuss menus for special occasions such as weddings, parties, and banquets
  • Conduct training for personnel and collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus, taking into account such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients and the likely number of guests.
  • Inspect facilities or equipment for regulatory compliance
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
  • Oversee work progress to verify safety and conformance to standards
  • Supervise, Direct and Coordinate activities of the kitchen team
  • Maintain production and work records
  • Oversee and direct the cleanliness of the kitchen and all storage areas
  • Recruit and hire staff, including cooks and other kitchen workers
  • Write weekly schedules and schedule employee work hours according to business and projected goals for labour dollars or percentages
  • Participate in food preparation and produce food consistently high in quality, taste, presentation and to plan menus
  • Meet with sales representatives in order to negotiate prices and order supplies
  • Order supplies and ensure the kitchen is kept fully stocked to meet demand
  • Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations
  • Use labour dollars and menu costing to price labour and food cost percentages

Work Type: In-person, Full-time, Permanent
Schedule – Full-time availability with flexibility for overtime based on business volume
Compensation – $65,000 - $72,000
