We are very excited about our new partnership with the Saint John Newcomer Centre in New Brunswick, adding a in-person study location to our growing school. We are seeking 1-2 local teachers who show the same dedication we do to language teaching excellence, and a passion for helping newcomers to Canada thrive.

Responsibilities

We are looking for teachers to:

• Attend professional development seminars
• Customize for age and level appropriate lessons and learning experience for students
• Assist students in maintaining Learning Portfolio
• Ensure new students get a brief welcome and introduction to their classmates during orientation
• Conduct engaging lessons
• Upload weekly lesson plans to class platform in a timely manner
• Use “Needs and Goals Analysis”, “Our Aims” and tutorial feedback to plan task-based lessons weekly
• Prepare weekly lesson plans
• Meet with students to discuss their personal aims during their first week and during bi-weekly scheduled tutorials
• Administer assessments to all students and record results on the students’ record forms on platform

Qualifications

Minimum Credentials:Bachelor’s Degree and TESOL Certification in accordance with Languages Canada requirements (TESL Canada Standard 1 minumum - see "Classification of TESOL Qualifications" https://www.languagescanada.ca/pt/quality-assurance)

Minimum Experience:2 years

Special Consideration will be given to

Specialized training or experience in teaching English for Specific Purposes

International work experience

Ability to speak another language

Ability to work remotely

Flexibility to accommodate different time zones (evenings, nights, weekends)

Job requires to be legally entitled to work in Canada

Rate of compensation

Minimum 23$/hour commensurate with education and experience
