Electrocardiography (Ecg) Technician Jobs

Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital is actively seeking applicants for an Electrocardiography (ECG) Technician position.

The ECG Technician provides technical expertise related to performing and reporting non-invasive cardiac testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Complete Holter monitor application.
• Be Diligent in identifying risks to team members, patients and visitors to the department, notify department leadership of these risks and participate in risk mitigation activities.
• Complete patient preparation, patient history and documentation.
• Complete monitor reading when required.
• Complete payroll and administration functions as required.
• Complete Cardiac Stress testing procedure and produce final report.
• Complete Electrode application.
• Complete monthly statistics.
• Complete patient history, and assist and complete holter monitoring.
• Perform Electro-cardiograms, including initial interpretation of patient condition and generated results.
• Provide leadership and support in regards to Cardiac testing procedures and processes.
• Perform Cardiac Stress Testing with the guidance of Internal Medicine Physician.
• Perform routine maintenance and care of testing room and equipment.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Attention to detail with high level of accuracy.
• Advanced arrhythmia interpretation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Cardiovascular Technologist diploma or equivalent with active registration and membership in good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist (CSCT) is required.
• Working knowledge of Cerner, PACS, Philips Holter Software & M-Health considered an asset.
• Self-directed, self-motivated, work independently and prioritize work situations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of patients and stakeholders.
• Proven advanced decision making and problem solving abilities.
• Recent related experience in performance of E.C.G., Stress Test and Holter monitoring is asset.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in an inter-professional environment.
• Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification is required.

Other Pertinent Conditions

• Salary per the Non-Union Salary Schedule ($31.30 per hour to $36.04 per hour)
