Duties

• Prepare patients for Radiology exam by explaining the procedure
• Record repeat/reject analysis
• Comfort and monitor the patient
• Position the patient and the equipment correctly
• Record and process data
• Assist the radiologist when needed and operate the equipment to obtain quality images
• Ensure the patient and others are protected from radiation
• All other tasks as required.
• Perform and record daily Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures
• Confirm both patient birth date and referring physician for each patient
• Maintain a clean working environment; follow Universal Health Precautions
• Acquire and document patient medical clinical history if none provided

Requirements

• Comply with Guelph Medical Imaging Policy and Procedure Manual
• Educational requirements:
• Technologist must be comfortable with computers for use of digital x-ray equipment as well as RIS/, PACS and email.
• The ability to work independently and in a team environment in an efficient manner
• Maintain excellent work and attendance record
• Maintain professional relationships with patients and fellow co-workers
• Must be a current member of the CMRITO
• Ability to coordinate with other staff when patient has multiple examinations
