Job Title: Occupational Health Technician
Location: Glasgowwith additional travel as and when required
Salary: Up to £28,000pa + mileage
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week
A FULL DRIVING LICENSE AND ACCESS TO A CAR IS NEEDED FOR THIS ROLE.
Role Summary
Optima Health are one of the largest providers of Occupational Health services in the UK. Our team of Occupational Health Technicians are essential in the delivery of these services. We are now looking to offer Trainee positions to people who looking to start the next step in their career.
With appropriate support and training in place, you will be responsible for delivering OH clinics to a wide range of clients within their workplace; undertaking health surveillance, drug and alcohol screening, health screening, and providing health and lifestyle advice to improve the wellbeing of employees within customer organisations.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensure the delivery of the highest possible standards of quality assured, evidence-based practice.
• Following training and assessment, the OHT will undertake agreed clinical activities relevant to Optima Health occupational health services including health screening, drug and alcohol screening and health surveillance.
• Work unsupervised at times both in the department and at other premises, delivering high standard OH services to clients allocated to their care.
• Carry out infection and immunity screening for staff and take appropriate action according to established policies and protocols.
• Undertake workplace visits for any issues relating to health at work relating to the OHT's scope of practice.
• Be accountable for delivery, recording and reporting health surveillance and escalating results of concern to a specialist clinician, either nursing or medical.
• Assist in undertaking a range of service items e.g., Driver's medicals, Well Person medicals, lung function tests, fitness tests and any other service that may be required.

Experience, Skills, And Knowledge Required For The Role
Previous experience in any of the following:

• Sports and Exercise Science, or a similar field
• Must hold a valid UK Driving Licence
• Attend regular team training and contribute towards the development of ‘new ways of working'
• Good interpersonal skills and excellent abilities in establishing, maintaining, and developing internal and external business relationships
• Must be able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Optima Health values
• Time Management, planning and organisation required. Ability to prioritize and adjust as appropriate, own workload to ensure tasks are progressed/completed in timely manner.
• Willingness to travel as required by the business
• Willingness to drive an Optima Health van-sized vehicle
• Experience and confident of working with IT systems
