E-Learning Specialist Jobs

We’re looking for a high-energy E-Learning Specialist and Technical Writer with proven experience as a creative, self-directed technical content creator to join our team and help take our client-focused services to new heights. The ideal candidate will have proven success in a technical field, such as software development, computer science, or engineering. Also important in this role is the ability to evaluate and analyze complex information, as well as a natural desire to help people understand it.

Objectives for this role:

• Evaluate current content and develop innovative methods for improvement
• Gain deep understanding of products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content
• Create user-friendly content that meets the needs of target audience, turning insights into content for user success
• Develop comprehensive documentation and e-learning content that meets organizational standards

You will be responsible for:

• Provide support and training to users of e-learning content and technology solutions
• Research, outline, write, and edit content in the Newforma online help system
• Communicate effectively with different stakeholders, such as trainers, instructional designers, and SMEs and be able to provide guidance on how to use the technology
• Design and develop e-learning content that is engaging, interactive, and aligned with the learning objectives. Must have a strong understanding of instructional design principles and the latest trends and technologies in e-learning
• Utilize LMS reporting capabilities and develop custom reports to assist with planning and managing the company’s training and development initiatives
• Standardize content across platforms and media, with a consistent voice across all platforms
• Work closely with Product Management Product Design, Development, and other SMEs to understand new and updated features
• Other duties as needed, such as moderating discussions in the Newforma online communities
• Ensure the online help and e-learning platform content is current
• Utilize knowledge of LMS capabilities to recommend delivery strategies that yield a rich, meaningful, and dynamic end-user experience

Qualifications

• Proven ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work independently
• Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
• Familiarity with e-learning development processes and authoring tools, and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
• Strong technical skills, such as experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Familiarity with online help development process and tools, and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
• Ability to develop learning objectives, storyboards, and assessments

Experience and Educational Requirements

• Professional certification (i.e., Society for Technical Communication) preferred
• AECO (architecture, engineering, construction, and owner) industry experience a plus, but not required
• Experience creating assessments, quizzes, and other interactive elements
• 3+ years related experience developing and managing e-learning content
• Knowledge of educational technology, including:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in training, adult education, and/or multimedia training materials development
• Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS) platform
• Experience administering an online help platform
• 3+ years related experience developing and writing technical documentation for software
• Knowledge of instructional design principles, including:
• Experience with HTML and audio and video editing software preferred
• Strong understanding of the latest trends and technologies in e-learning
• How to design and develop interactive and engaging e-learning content
• Familiarity with different types of e-learning, such as mobile learning and gamification preferred
• Fluency in French preferred
• Strong knowledge of Adobe RoboHelp or other help-authoring tool preferred
