About Our Opportunity
The Program Manager – Early Years Communications Lead will work with staff to develop and implement communications strategies and programs for the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement and the Early Years and Child Care Team at the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
Primary Accountabilities
Responsibilities include strategic communications advice to senior staff and elected officials, media relations, issues management, social media, stakeholder communications, event planning and management, as well as producing, editing, and writing speeches, materials for public announcements, and content for various digital/traditional channels. The project lead will report to the Director of Communications for EECD.
Qualifications And Experience
University degree in a related discipline and five (5) years’ professional communications experience or an acceptable equivalent. The successful candidate will have strong strategic communications skills, strong writing skills, a background in developing and implementing communications strategies, experience in social media and online technologies, and experience dealing with clients, a diverse range of stakeholders and the media.
Assets
  • Public sector transformation experience and also experience working with a cross-functional project team.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment, under tight deadlines;

Pay Grade: EC 11
Salary Range: $3,143.79 - $3,929.78 Bi-Weekly
