Job Description

Services Required:

Our BC based partner requires the need of a Communications Lead to support an ongoing Transformation project, their responsibilities will include:

  • Taking the lead role on communications initiatives, as required, including but not limited to internal communications, supporting physician and staff engagement, project implementation communications and PR/issues management.
  • Supporting the Communications Director and Manager as needed, and providing advice, guidance, and communications direction (both internally and externally) to ensure the successful implementation of communications strategies.
  • Drafting and editing communications materials as needed, including on behalf of leaders, and managing them through appropriate review processes and distribution channels.
  • Providing strategic advice, planning, project management and tactical support, as needed
  • Leading internal, external, change management, employee engagement, benefits/value, and implementation-focused communications projects.
  • Building strong partnerships with counterparts and experts across the project and the three participating organizations.
  • Advising senior leaders and physicians on best use of communication tools and practices to achieve operational and strategic priorities.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.


Specific Qualifications or Experience Required:

  • Ability to guide the work of designers, videographers, and external suppliers.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and mentor colleagues as needed.
  • A Degree in public relations / communications (or similar) and a minimum of 7 (seven) years of related experience.
  • Direct related experience in communication research, planning, execution, and measurement (ideally within healthcare)
  • Direct experience as a communications leader on major, complex projects (ideally within health care)
  • Ability to manage projects and work collaboratively with subordinates, peers, and senior executives.
  • A strong sense of protocol and diplomacy
