PERMANENT PART TIME DRIVER AND WAREHOUSEMAN

Village E-Recycling Limited (VER) is seeking a permanent part time driver and warehouseman (2-4 days per week) for its Aldersyde, Alberta facility which is located in the center of the Okotoks-High River region, south of Calgary. This position has two aspects to it.

The driving aspect involves safely operating a vehicle ranging from a one ton box van to five ton truck (all lift gate equipped) in various environments ranging from rural farm to urban industrial area to strip mall to dense downtown core. The driver, with or without the assistance of a driver helper, will attend client locations and remove IT assets from the client location using outstanding customer service, bulk loading, mechanized loading, and/or unit load devices. This task involves: driving, having an understanding of the local area, working independently, the repetitious lifting and moving items up to 100 pounds unaided or 200 pounds aided, and on-loading said items onto VER vehicles.

The warehouseman aspect involves offloading VER vehicles and unit load devices into our facility, along with the sortation, testing, movement, and disposition of materials within and beyond the facility. This task involves repetitious lifting of items 1-20 pounds and up to 70 pounds, forklift and pallet jack operation, along with kneeling, sitting, and standing for long periods of time while sorting and/or testing items.

The aspects of this position are split roughly 70% driving, 30% warehouseman.

Successful applicants must (minimum requirements):

• Possess a valid unrestricted Canadian or US drivers license for two axle automobiles.
• Have a driving record with zero (0) DUI and zero (0) license revocations/suspensions from the last ten (10) years.
• Be fully capable and confident operating a one ton cube van up to a five ton truck on highways, expressways, alleyways, urban areas, and downtown loading docks. Training provided.
• Not have any criminal convictions involving dishonesty or crimes of moral turpitude.
• Have ability to repetitively lift up to 100lbs unaided and 200lbs aided on to moving tools such as hand trucks and dollies.
• Be safety and data-security conscious without compromise, always.
• Have a client-first approach to their work, including listening carefully to the needs of our clients and anticipating their future needs.
• Be able to report to our facility in Aldersyde, Alberta without company assistance.
• Be able to climb, step, crawl, stoop, lift, push, pull, and use three-point contact to ascend and descent steps and heights.
• Thrive and feel happy when working independently.
• Be fully capable at understanding and interpreting local street addresses and street layouts without GPS or smart-phone assistance. Training provided.
