Job Description

March of Dimes Canada (MODC) is a federally registered national charity that offers a wide variety of programs and services to Canadians living with disabilities. The IT & Digital Innovation team is excited to fill this key leadership role, which will build out the organization’s ability to leverage agile, digital skillsets to build meaningful products for employees and clients.


Profile


As the Director of Product and Platforms, reporting to the VP of IT and Digital Innovation, you’ll use your significant digital delivery experience to:


Responsibilities


  • Grow and lead a team of highly skilled, passionate professionals doing service design, product management, and agile development
  • Develop, encourage and promote an inclusive, highly accessible, human-centred mindset and practice across the entire organization
  • Support the ongoing evolution and management of key enterprise applications, including CRM and ERP
  • Deliver and evolve high-quality, user-friendly digital products and platforms, for both corporate and public use
  • Influence the multi-year IT & Digital roadmap through research, consultation, and an innovation mindset


Please note: This position is part of the national team, reporting into the Toronto office; however, MODC is a remote-friendly organization and has the tools to support remote work up to 4 days a week.


Qualifications And Experience


Technical Knowledge:


  • You have on-the-ground experience in the practices of product management, service design, user experience design, Lean, project management, and/or agile development.
  • You have significant experience working within, establishing and leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality digital products.
  • You bring strategic perspectives on modern SaaS, open source, and low-code/no-code technology trends and platforms, and how to use them to meet user needs while balancing costs
  • Your experience with cloud platforms makes you unafraid to dive into systems like Dynamics365 and Salesforce at the enterprise level.
  • You understand and advocate for the role of data in any organization, in surfacing insights and driving decisions.
  • You understand and advocate for accessible interfaces, software, and practices.


Strategic And Project Management Skills


  • You have led significant change initiatives in your previous work, and are comfortable leading with compassion in an evolving organization
  • You are experienced leading a portfolio that is both operational and transformational, including budgeting, reporting, and risk management
  • You are comfortable developing and implementing strategies that accomplish business objectives


Communication Skills


  • You are committed to being part of an inclusive, barrier-free, respectful and diverse workplace and demonstrate this through your communications, actions and leadership.
  • You are a collaborative member of a team, working well with colleagues across lines of business for the best outcomes
  • You are confident communicating technical ideas and concepts to non-technical leadership and stakeholders, verbally, visually and in writing.
