Job Summary And Requirements
This competition is to fill one (1) permanent position.

This position provides expert counsel, guidance, and support to the Deputy Minister, senior management, managers, supervisors, and all branches on a diverse range of issues impacting the department. The Director oversees a team of professionals and leads the department’s strategic and business planning processes. This position plays a key role in preparing the Minister for business in the Legislature, in Cabinet and other public and internal senior level meetings, including directing the preparation of briefing materials on departmental legislation, policies, programs and services. The incumbent is a key member of the Executive Management Team (EMT) and is responsible for developing and implementing departmental policies.
The Director, along with their team, will assume a pivotal role in driving the development of evaluation policies across the department, perpetually refining and enhancing evaluation methodologies and application. The Director provides vision and leadership in the development of training to build evaluation competencies and capacity with program areas.

Essential Qualifications
  • Managing public and stakeholder consultation processes.
  • Degree in Political Science, Law, Public Administration, Evaluation, or a related field.
  • Senior leadership e xperience including leading and managing human, financial, and material resources.
  • Experience developing department plans, department yearly objectives/plans, corporate policies, programs, and strategies.
  • Senior level experience with program evaluation, policy analysis, development, research, and project management.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
