Job Summary And Requirements
This is a full-time permanent position, working 75 hours bi-weekly.

The Mineral Resources Branch of the Department of Energy Mines and Resources is responsible for the development of a sustainable mining industry in the Yukon. As a member of the Mineral Resources senior management team, this position is responsible for managing a strongly motivated group in a fast-paced work environment and directing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating a variety of strategic and operational mineral resource initiatives. These initiatives include ministerial and senior management information support, industry association funding support, regulatory and Indigenous consultation advice and policy development, geographic information services (GIS) support and system development to the Branch and provision of regulatory information to support the mineral industry. Strong leadership, team building, strategic thinking, creative problem solving skills and a desire to achieve results are essential to be successful in this key position.

Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications. Please note, selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
  • Experience providing operational policy advice regarding rights, activities and obligations under land and resources legislation;
  • Experience building partnerships within and outside your organization, including the development of successful partnerships with First Nations, communities, non-government organizations and other government departments;
  • Experience supervising, coaching, team building and mentoring.
  • Experience developing, delivering, and evaluating programs, strategies, policies and services for natural resource development and management;
  • Degree in Public Administration, Social Sciences, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field;
Candidates who have education, training and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
