*Excellent time management and scheduling skills

*Conducts meaningful engagement with DRFN community members regarding management of forests in DRFN’s territory.

Forest Management in KTP, TLE Wildlands & DRFN Woodlot

*Working knowledge of relevant provincial legislation, regulations and safety requirements

*Forestry degree from a recognized post-secondary institution and minimum 5 years work experience

*Experience working with Indigenous communities on forestry issues

Assist with the assembly and management of the project consultant team

Assist in identifying the consultant requirements for each project; as well as preparing and submitting requests for fee proposals

Review and evaluate consultant proposals and create fee proposal comparisons for managerial and executive review.

Creating reports and presentations for managerial and executive review on project status updates.

Masters Degree in Urban Planning, City Studies, Geography, Public Policy, or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Minimum 2+ years relevant experience

Experience developing, delivering, and evaluating programs, strategies, policies and services for natural resource development and management;

Degree in Public Administration, Social Sciences, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field;

Experience providing operational policy advice regarding rights, activities and obligations under land and resources legislation;

Experience supervising, coaching, team building and mentoring.

Modeling Interpersonal Skills and Personal Responsibility.

·Project and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities;

Recommends project priorities, research and policy development methods, data requirements and consultation techniques for studies related to development approvals.

Develops and recommends corporate policies, implementation programs and procedures related to major responsibilities.

Performs other duties as assigned which are directly related to the responsibilities of the position.

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multi-disciplinary projects and staff in results oriented and primarily unionized environment.

Experience in designing and delivering customer focused programs and services.

Knowledge of the collective bargaining and consultant service procurement processes.

Experience with forest management including developing or applying forest harvesting plans, policies, standards and guidelines

Experience in applying or administering resource legislation, preferably related to forest management

Experience with project management including developing and supervising contracts would be an asset

Degree in Forest Resource Management or related field

A professional forester designation would be an asset
