Job Summary And Requirements
This competition is for a full-time permanent position, working 75 hours bi-weekly.
Reporting to the Deputy Minister, the Director, Policy and Communications directs overall corporate policy, planning, and communication for the Department. As a member of the Department’s senior management team, this position is responsible for developing and implementing departmental policies and programs that reflect and promote government philosophies and objectives.

- Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision and as part of a senior management team to ensure government and department goals and priorities are met;
- A degree in Law, Social Sciences, Business/Public Administration, Communications, or a related field,
- The ability to deal with the public (individuals and stakeholders), First Nations, other governments;
- Considerable experience in analyzing policies, suggesting options and making recommendations .
- Ability to manage human and financial resources in a large multi-project environment;
