Job Summary:


Teledyne Integrated Imaging Solutions (IIS), a division of Teledyne Technologies, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of Machine Vision digital cameras. Our cameras are vital components in the fast-growing, transformative industries of robotics, machine learning, inspection, biomedical/life sciences, retail, traffic control, virtual reality, and more.


We are looking for a creative, driven and experienced Supply Chain leader to join our Operations team in Richmond, BC. The Director of Supply Chain will be responsible for identifying and implementing procurement, logistics, and material management solutions for the IIS business and collaborating with the Teledyne Corporate Procurement organization to execute corporate initiatives.


This position offers a unique opportunity to share your extensive experience and skillset with a successful and innovative company, designing and manufacturing high performance digital cameras here in our world-class facility in Richmond, BC and with staff in multiple locations.


Detailed Description


  • Drive strategic and tactical cost saving initiatives to ensure continuous costs savings and supporting product teams to achieve product cost objectives.
  • Responsible for managing inventory accuracy and turns, and controlling operating costs
  • Manage contract obligations and processes for IIS business, collaborating with TDY corporate partners and policies.
  • Identify and exploit opportunities for improvement using analytics and performance metrics
  • Promote professional growth among team members through challenging and rewarding goals
  • Design and implement our supplier management processes including supplier quality management, improving payment terms, risk management, and establishing direct relationships and contracts with our largest manufacturers.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Procurement Functions including but not limited to direct and indirect cost reduction, improved working capital, inventory reduction, coordinate and collaborate with TDY Global Procurement peers creating and implementing initiatives and policies.
  • Responsible for managing and improving inbound and outbound logistics to reduce costs and act as logistics expert for other IIS stakeholders.
  • Provide Monthly progress reports on department goals, KPI’s, budgets, and projects to company executives and other senior management.
  • Collaborate with vendors, external service providers, and internal teams to identify and implement opportunities for supply chain efficiency improvements, cost reductions, and materials management.
  • Assure training and compliance of department to Corporate and government regulations and ISO processes.
  • Plan and implement supplier reduction allowing us to better manage the ones we retain


Requirements


  • A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business or Engineering); MBA a plus
  • 7+ years’ experience at a senior management or director level in a manufacturing environment (electronics preferred)
  • Strategic supply chain leader with 10+ years of varied and relevant experience across supply chain functions
  • Success using analytics and technology to promote data driven decision making
  • Innovative thinking and a drive to be proactive
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Superior negotiation skills for use inside and outside the company
  • Strong team building, collaboration and management skills
  • Experience in supplier quality management
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP implementation and optimization (SAP preferred)
  • Occasional international travel
  • Demonstrated ability creating a shared vision and building consensus
  • Experience implementing kanban, consignment processes, or similar lean strategies throughout the supply chain


Preferred Skills/Experience


  • Strong knowledge of the electronics supply industry practices and players
  • Prior experience in sales, product management, business development
  • Mandarin, German, or Japanese fluency


This position requires access to export-controlled information or items (i.e. regulated technology or technical data per ITAR/EAR US regulations). Applicants must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
