Health Standards Organization (“HSO”) is searching for Director, Health Education Accreditation (Equal). The EQual program partners with a growing list of health professions to support educational programs with the delivery of high-quality entry-to practice education and who share our passion for achieving quality health services across Canada and around the world.
As Director, Health Education Accreditation, you will lead and manage a team responsible for the EQual accreditation program. This assessment program is offered to education providers delivering education and training to health care professionals at community colleges, institutes of technology, career colleges and universities.The program also works in collaboration with national and provincial regulators and professional associations that set competency models for new graduates. You will be responsible for program operations as well as positioning the program for growth both in Canada and internationally .

  • Building authentic and enduring relationships with staff, clients (educational institutions), partners, consultative and operational committees; rallying them to contribute to your goals and success.
  • Being a key player in driving the business plan for market growth in the field of education accreditation.
  • Contributing positively to the culture of our workplace by staying positive, engaged in the work you do and energized by the difference you’re making. You will approach everything with passion, leadership and integrity and will bring out the best in others to help get things done.
  • Staying on top of emerging trends, deepening corporate knowledge of education accreditation and integrating into HSO’s corporate strategy 2023.

  • Leading and enabling your team in the delivery of accreditation services through a model of continuous quality improvement.
You have a unique history. Does it include the education, experience and skills listed below?
  • Business development experience – knowledge in marketing and sales as they relate to the organization’s products, services, and strategy.
  • Tried and tested analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Change management skills.
  • Experience in working in an agile and transitioning environment.
  • Knowledge of implementation science.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills including energy and a positive attitude.
  • Master’s degree in a related field, such as Education, Administration or Healthcare preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competency to learning systems and continuous quality improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian education regulation and systems.
  • Experience leading teams.

  • Have knowledge and experience in health sciences education and/or quality improvement assessments.
