Director, Engineering Jobs

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Engineering to lead our engineering team and drive the development of world-class dealer management solutions for heavy equipment dealerships. The Director of Engineering will be responsible for managing all aspects of the engineering function, including product development, software engineering, and quality assurance. The Director, Engineering will also be responsible for managing cross-functional relationships with product management, customer support, and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software Engineering: Oversee the software engineering function, ensuring that software solutions are developed using best practices, modern technologies, and are scalable, maintainable, and reliable.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with CTO/CPO, cross-functional teams, including product management, customer support, and other key stakeholders, to ensure alignment on product strategy, roadmap, and development priorities. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive product adoption and customer satisfaction.
• Product Development: Collaborate closely with product management to understand customer needs, define product requirements, and drive product development. Ensure the product development process is executed with the highest standards of quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
• Technology Strategy: Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends and collaborate with CTO/CPO and other engineering leaders to develop a technology strategy that drives innovation and differentiation in our dealer management solutions. Ensure that the technology strategy is aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance productivity, quality, and speed to market. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Engineering Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, architects, and quality assurance professionals to ensure high-quality software development and timely product delivery. Set clear goals and expectations, provide ongoing feedback and coaching, and ensure the team is aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
• Quality Assurance: Lead the quality assurance function, ensuring that software solutions are rigorously tested and meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and security. Establish and maintain develops and quality assurance processes, tools, and methodologies.

Required Education & Experience:

• Proven track record of successfully leading software engineering teams to develop and deliver complex software solutions.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• Strong technical background and hands-on experience in software development, with proficiency in modern software development methodologies, tools, and technologies.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in the heavy equipment or automotive industry and in migrating from old to new technologies.
• Passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a strong drive to stay ahead of market trends and customer needs.
