Job Description
Rocket Science is an Emmy nominated boutique visual effects studio collaborating with filmmakers to create stunning visual imagery utilizing artistry, science and technology. Located in Toronto, Canada, notable credits include Eric Kripke’s Emmy nominated superhero series THE BOYS (Amazon), Tim Burton’s critically acclaimed WEDNESDAY (Netflix), Rian Johnson’s POKER FACE (Peacock) and Steve Blackman’s THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY (Netflix). Features include David Cronenberg’s Canadian Screen Award Winner, CRIMES OF THE FUTURE, Jean-Francois Richet, PLANE (Lionsgate), Jeremy Garelick’s MURDER MYSTERY 2 (Netflix) and the upcoming feature from Rachel Morrison, FLINT STRONG (MGM).


RSVFX is currently in production on Mike Flanagan’s Edgar Allan Poe adaptation, THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER (Netflix), THE BOYS spinoff GEN V (Amazon), and FREAKY TALES (eOne), directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.

Responsibilities:


  • Work within a collaborative team environment.
  • Produce high quality 2D and 3D digital environment and concept art.
  • Ability to create photorealistic elements and environments using 2D, 2.5D and 3D projection methods.
  • Provide and take direction from VFX Supervisors, execute tasks based on direction
  • Solve creative and technical problems under tight deadlines and fast turnaround.


Qualifications:


  • Must be Eligible to work in Canada.
  • Proficiency in Maya, Mari, Zbrush and Nuke.
  • A proven eye for detail, scale and realism.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a live-action feature film and television production.
  • Understanding and knowledge of modelling, texturing, shading, colour theory, software, graphics and production workflow.
