Job description
IRIS Software Inc. /SSA Infosystems Inc. (Financial Services business unit) is seeking an experienced Delivery Director to join its growing organization and manage the overall delivery of IT services and business solutions for a large client in the Toronto area. Delivery Director is mandated with overall delivery governance, managing senior relationships, business growth and developing new value propositions in the existing client portfolio
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting clear and concise Vision & Scope or Epic level documents
- Customize industry prevalent engagement models to suit client requirements and deliver engagements on a multi-year roadmap. These include managed services and global delivery models
- Anchor pre-sales effort and demos with support from the sales, pre-sales, delivery teams and practices
- Program management and delivery governance for all projects being delivered by our global delivery teams
- Transition work to Iris’ Global Delivery teams
- Develop and track roadmaps and program plans with other delivery leads
- Provide thought leadership to create business value for the client through IRIS’ service offerings (i.e. solution-based selling)
- Ensure delivery and contractual compliance across the portfolio
- Partner with Client Partners to manage senior client relationships (Director/ VP level) across business, technology and operations
- Create opportunities for organic growth within the designated clients’ stakeholders for whom (s)he is managing delivery function
- Participate in estimation and prioritization sessions to keep a full backlog of tasks and timelines
- Prepare, manage and execute project plans to include project goals, project timelines and delivery milestones
- Provide timely and accurate progress updates on delivery and business opportunities to senior stakeholders (includes C-level) across IRIS and the client organizations.
- Manage and lead the delivery teams through client environments and aligns their conduct and activities to promote Iris’ business interests
- Ensure a great client experience on all existing delivery engagements for the assigned client(s)
- Participate in key projects and deliverable reviews to ensure quality and predictability of delivery
- Drafting Statements of Work
- Layout and get buy-in for a change management process and communicate changes in schedule to protect stakeholders and manage their expectations
- Assisting client teams through JAD sessions to develop high level requirements
- Facilitate workshops and mindshare sessions with the clients and other relevant stakeholders around potential new opportunities
- Support Iris management team and client stakeholders to engineer, scope and plan new projects. This includes and is not limited to –
- Identify dependencies on all related functions (infrastructure, testing, info-sec etc.) in the project plans and monitor tasks
- Manage delivery projects with varied engagement, pricing and execution models across service offerings including application development and maintenance, re-engineering, systems integration, package implementation and production support
- Partner with the global delivery teams to provide effective delivery governance i.e. proactively manage risks, respond to client escalations and troubleshoot delivery or engagement issues
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to make effective technical and business presentations
- Must-have experience in managing IT engagements with clients in the Commercial Banking industry for at least few years
- Must have come from an Application Development background
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with financial services clients.
- Effective at facilitating meetings to help teams deliver on their commitments
- Ability to practice a disciplined approach to reflect on the health of delivery function periodically and propose ideas to manage it effectively
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of intricate cross-dependencies in any technical program/ project
- People-person with an innate ability to develop relationships at all levels of the client organization and maintain them on a longer term
- Understands the nuances of managing delivery in an onsite-offshore model
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and flexible approach to their application
- Expertise in IT program management in direct client facing roles, with clients in Canada
- Proven track record of working with off-shore software development/infrastructure teams to deliver multiple product iterations on spec, budget, and time
- Fluent in new and conventional technologies, best practices and prevalent platforms for example Fusion Loan IQ
- Ability to perform the role of a “trusted” advisor for IT initiatives
- 12+ years of experience in the IT services and solutions delivery with globally distributed teams preferably with one of top IT services or consulting firms
- Ability to clearly communicate progress, change, and status updates both verbally and in writing
- Experience in delivering large and complex multi-years programs
- Understands business processes in the Commercial Banking industry including Commercial Lending, Asset Finance/Leasing and commercial payments
- Acumen to understand client’s business, strategy and regulatory imperatives; subsequently aligns Iris’ strategy, solutions and services to add value
