- Adaptable: You will work with other teams, often remotely, to identify and resolve issues quickly. You may also be traveling to data centers to assemble, configure and prepare new hardware as well as install, upgrade and maintain existing hardware
- Clean: You maintain an impeccable level of cleanliness and organization.
- Configuration of machines: solid knowledge of Linux, Windows 10 and Apple Workstations
- Competency: In the repair and maintenance of server and workstation hardware
- A solid understanding of network architecture and practices. Familiarity with Cisco CLIs is a plus
- Problem Solver: No problem too complex/simple for you to help solve - you can approach a problem from different angles and work with other IX employees collaboratively to get things done
- Assist in the diagnosing, troubleshoot and escalate any problems internally and externally
- Configuring workstations for new users and troubleshooting IT issues as needed
- Rack, cable and configure network hardware (Cisco, Arista)
- Maintain impeccable documentation around our data center configuration
- Test, analyze and repair defective servers
- Set standards of excellence for all data center operations
- Rack, cable and configure Linux-based servers (Dell
- Scheduling flexibility to complete assigned migrations/projects
- Provide 24/7 on-call emergency services as required.
- Perform all levels of maintenance on UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) and other power systems equipment including, but not limited to battery tests and replacements, capacitor,static switch, intelligent module and fan replacements.
- Quickly learn, adapt, and retain Data Centre and Client specific information
- Knowledge of Jira and confluence ticketing system
- Maintain, monitor, and record HVAC equipment, air quality, occupancy, and temperature
- Ability to evaluate all manufacturers’ specifications for equipment new/old in order to assign placement in the Data Centre
- Performs the full range of operation and maintenance; to include but not limited to; scheduled and unscheduled; installations, decommissioning, inspections, analysis, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Knowledge of data center and power operations including cooling systems, UPS and generators
- Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching,standing and walking
- Keeping detailed records of all work activities, including changes in configurations or settings
- Onsite Data Centre experience supporting the Data Centre equipment and/or infrastructure (Power, Space, Cooling, Equipment)
- This role is required to be at our data center in North York 2-3 days a week
