The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CWB Welder for a project 950km north-west of Vancouver, BC. Camp available. Charter flights available from: Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops and Prince George.

Shift: 14/14 12 hour days

Hourly Rate for Journeyman $45.00

Responsibilities:

• Consistently demonstrate “Safety Leadership” qualities
• Perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Continually exhibits best practices with housekeeping, safety, document control, lock-up procedures & preventative maintenance
• Join, Faricate, Repair meal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate techniques using various welding devices
• Use different welding processes and fillers depending upon the type of metal, its size and shape, and requirements for finished product strength weld parts together
• Extensive plate, structural, and miscellaneous welding experience whether it be a small or large project
• May perform other related duties assigned
• Support, participate in, and help drive the overall company safety program, safety awareness, and safety targets
• Ability to clean/finish all completed welds with zero spatter, zero deficiencies, and zero defects over and above the required code, across the entire project
• Excellent communication skills, can-do attitude, collaborative skills, ability to follow directions and have attention to detail
• Takes pride in workmanship, aims for zero repair rate, continually striving to improve & develop
• Read & interpret blueprints or welding process specifications for structural steel without supervision
• Welds parts, and may also build up worn parts by welding layers of high-strength hard-metal alloys onto them

Requirements

• Journeyman Welder certification
• Must have the following safety tickets: Fall Arrest, Confined Space, AWP and WHIMIS
• Must have valid CWB
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Must have previous welding experience in an industrial setting
