Customer Business Manager, Food Service – Bakery Channel

This exciting role will be the perfect opportunity for you to be part of an exciting team and a dynamic, world-class Consumer Packaged Goods and Dairy Manufacturing company.
As our Food Service Customer Business Manager, you will be focused primarily on the Bakery Channel as you maintain, develop and deliver profitable volume with major foodservice distributors and further processors, achieving the sales, revenue, profit and personnel targets that align with the overall National Foodservice Sales strategy.
About the role
Reporting to the National Director of Sales (Food Service), you will:
- Ensure proper control and implementation of customer rebates and discounts, pricing, receivables and deductions, forecasting, product launches and discontinuations, customer and market intelligence and other required sales functions
- Deliver against KPI objectives as developed and communicated from the Director, National Foodservice Sales
- Liaise with Customer Service Manager and team including business updates for Customer Business Team
- Develop and execute customer plans aligned with the National Foodservice Sales and the overall Arla business strategies
- Monitor and communicate up to date customer and product information on the Foodservice & Bakery market indicating competitive actions and threats
- Develop relationships with customer contacts to gain knowledge of business needs and ensure delivery of business plans
- Maintain up to date customer contacts and process for product removals and recalls
- Influence new and profitable sales volume on key core product categories with designated and new foodservice distributors, regional/national chains and further processors
- Seek out opportunities for self development proactively and continually
- Participate in general sales and foodservice meetings and planning sessions as required
- Establish and develop strong, productive relationships with all customers based on relative importance to the overall delivery of the Foodservice Department Sales objectives
- Assume incremental Foodservice & Bakery customer responsibility as required
- Manage the monthly CDC costing template for further processors and ensure implementation of pricing details and ensure margin management
- Provide consistent monthly reporting to the Director, National Foodservice Sales accounting for sales variances, wins/losses with corresponding explanations
- Deliver required forecast accuracy to minimize wastage and maximize service levels
- Develop annual customer plans for identified major Foodservice customers that are consistent with the overall Foodservice business objectives and strategy
Who are you?
You have a five or more years’ experience Bakery and/or Food Service sales. Ideally you also have considerable product knowledge of cheese related to the Bakery/Food Service industry. You would also ideally have working knowledge of CDC and component pricing, the bakery segment and bakery distribution, and on bakery ingredient sales and the functionality of dairy in bakery production.
Your education includes a post secondary degree or diploma, preferably in a field related to business administration.
