Position Summary


This position works closely with and reports to the Manager, Teaching and Learning, Alberta School of Business. This role provides curricular support across programs, with a focus on curricular development and mapping. This position provides direct support, including data collection and analysis, for the School's accreditation reporting. It is responsible for providing accurate, timely and proactive support to curriculum and course management, as well as teaching and learning activities.


Duties


  • Supports training for Teaching Assistants, and provides oversight to TA's across the School including a process to allocate and monitor TA workload
  • Tracks key metrics related to Teaching and Learning
  • Contributes to curriculum reviews by conducting curriculum mapping between program learning goals and course assessments across all courses
  • Supports committees (Undergraduate Studies Policy Committee; Graduate Studies Policy Committee; Teaching and Learning Committee; Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee)
  • Develops and manages forms and communications to streamline student requests and communications
  • Works with the budget holder to plan and manage BUS course budgets
  • Tracks key metrics related to Teaching and Learning for AACSB accreditation purposes
  • Works with the RO to review calendar drafts each year
  • Works with the Program Offices to ensure approved calendar changes are effectively operationalized and communicated (e.g. support advising processes, system configuration, website updates, etc.)
  • Ensures course descriptions/pre-requisites are managed and kept up to date
  • Consults on policy development/revisions as it relates to academic matters and implications on programs
  • Provide supports and resources for Instructors across the School
  • Receives/submits/tracks all calendar and program changes, working closely with departments to ensure processes and deadlines are met
  • Manages and coordinates BUS courses such as sourcing speakers and course-based experiential projects, support the scheduling of courses, enhancing hybrid learning experience, etc.


Qualifications


  • Superior oral and written communication, exceptional organizational skills, interpersonal and relationship building ability; strong commitment to the client with a positive and professional approach
  • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft, Google Apps, and relational databases
  • Adaptability and ability to work with some measure of ambiguity
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field is required (i.e. Business, Education or Library and Information Studies or equivalent); Masters preferred.
  • Outstanding project management skills, including managing projects, and groups within a defined time frame
  • Strong data management experience, and understanding of qualitative and quantitative methodology
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify actions/solutions in complex situations
  • Experience in curricular implementation, curriculum mapping, and data management, in a post-secondary program required
  • Experience in business education is a strong asset
  • Experience in operation and management of a post-secondary educational program is an asset
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of decolonizing and/or indigenizing curricula is an asset
  • Knowledge of university culture and policies is required to carry out responsibilities effectively
