Scope Of The Position
The Chemtrade Corporate Account Manager is an experienced individual with strong management skills that handles the most important customers of the Chemtrade company in North America. They are responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing sales of Chemtrade ElectroChem chemicals (sodium chlorate, caustic soda, chlorine, HCl) as well as SPPC products (sulfuric acid & sulfur) and Water chemicals (alum, ferric sulfate, PACL & ACH).
The positionrequires technical knowledge of product application in the Pulp & Paper sector and skills for developing and maintaining critical customer contacts to understand market dynamics and recommending/implementing appropriate actions.
Minimum Position Qualifications/Requirements
  • Valid passport
  • Aminimum of 10-15 years of experience in chemical sales and marketing within the Pulp & Paper Industry is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time.
  • Strong computer skills (SAP, Office)
  • This is a remote role.
  • Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or Environmental Sciences (similar fields considered)

Job Duties And Responsibilities
Manage Corporate Accounts:
  • Ensure relationships with end-use customers are favorable. Take appropriate action, where necessary, if the customer is dissatisfied with any aspect of the company’s service.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers in the territory to understand needs, gain market knowledge and recommend actions.
  • Independently develop/implement a specific account-by-account tactical strategy to exceed the contribution/margin plan, focusing on critical criteria of volume, selling price, freight optimization, and customer tank car hold time.
  • Develop, analyze, and negotiate sales agreements at strategic accounts with input from management to meet corporate objectives.
  • Answer customers’ requests regarding their operation problems related directly or indirectly to the use our products.
Communications
  • Conscientiously review and communicate potential opportunities that add value to the current business strategies or fit the growth strategy.
  • Communicates the business factors that affect market conditions, including competitive activity/pricing, end-use/industry knowledge, environmental issues, and their integration with the company’s business strategies. Uses this information to optimize decisions.
  • Effectively manage sales processes, including effective customer communication (price change notifications, quotations, etc.), territory management and planning, budgeting and forecasting, call reports, expenses, etc.
Other
  • Understands all cost components which impact the cost of doing business with the customer. Optimally utilizes resources available to remain within the assigned budget.
  • Understand and analyze the cost structure, supply chain, and inventory balance to meet customer requirements, design new deals, and maximize value.
  • Coordinate with accounting personnel to keep customer accounts receivable current.
  • Work/Coordinate projects to develop new business or support our company with the Sales/Marketing Departments.
  • Proactively coordinate with operations, distribution, customer service, technical and quality functions to resolve customer issues and successfully implement business strategy.
