Job Summary


The Registrar’s Office (RO) is a large, multi-unit, multi-site operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Reporting to the Associate Director, Enrolment Service Operations, the incumbent is responsible for the management of the daily operations of the Enrolment Service Centres ( ESC ) in Halifax that combine the functions of the Registrar’s Office, Student Accounts, the Bookstore and the DalCard Office.


Key Responsibilities


  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Registrar’s Office to coordinate and ensure the accurate maintenance of academic records and information.
  • Develop procedures to guide the outcomes of the ESCs, ensuring alignment with policies, regulations, and the strategic priorities of the Registrar’s Office. Implement appropriate measures and controls to guarantee a high level of accuracy in all aspects of the ESC .
  • Ensure service excellence in our partnerships with operations for Student Accounts, DalCard, UPass, Bookstore and Registrar functions.
  • Hire, supervise and support NSGEU , student, and temporary casual employees, including delivering a comprehensive on-boarding program for new team members. Ensure the core values of the RO are a focus in all areas of work.
  • Create a culture of service excellence focused on meeting time sensitive deadlines and creating a positive experience for prospective and current students, parents, guidance counselors, faculty and staff.
  • Responsible for the daily management and coordination of both Halifax Enrolment Service Centres for the RO. Ensure accurate processing of student records, student loans, confirmation of enrolments and transcripts as well as oversee effective management of financial transactions, including serving as the campus cashier.


Note


Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.


Required Qualifications


  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Undergraduate degree, plus a minimum of three to five years’ related administrative experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • A high degree of interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Experience developing business processes, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Student Information systems
  • Proven excellence in staff supervision and management.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and function at a high level with minimal direct supervision
  • Proven ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Experience in academic records and information management.
  • Experience in Banner.
  • Experience in a university setting.
