About The Position


The Coordinator, Digital Engagement is a key member of the Student Affairs division at Lethbridge College. Reporting to the Associate Dean, they work with a cross-functional team to create and share communications and build connection with students through a variety of channels including email, SMS , social media, student portal, and AI.


The coordinator works collaboratively with all departments, with a focus on Student Affairs and Registrar’s Office teams to provide a seamless digital experience. An excellent storyteller, the coordinator is able to create emotional connection through digital means and is knowledgeable in current best practices around creating student engagement through communication.


This role oversees a comprehensive student communication plan, with the goal of creating connection and engagement with learners which contributes to reaching institutional retention goals. The coordinator utilizes multiple technologies to operationalize the communication plan and is the Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) expert within Student Affairs, and creates and analyzes reports to assess campaign success and makes recommendations for future improvements.


Position Details


Student Communications


  • Maintains an annual workplan to review and update communications being sent
  • Leads the development, monitoring, and updating of annual communication schedule
  • Provides feedback and advice on communications written by staff across SA and RO, manages and monitors changes in campaigns
  • Oversees overall engagement structure including communication through email, portal, website, and other. Creates calendar of communication and updates on student and staff portals
  • Recommends strategies to build engagement with future and current students through various methods


Student portal


  • Recommends and/or updates student portal information
  • Sets start and end dates for targeted messaging in the portal
  • Monitors usage statistics to provide recommendations for changes
  • Co-creates marketing plan to direct learners to portal
  • Lead role in creating new student portal, as part of a working group
  • Ensures accuracy of information and associated linked pages


CRM administrator


  • Reviews results of triggered messaging and make adjustments based on data
  • Sends event invites and tracks engagement
  • Creates email campaigns that are targeted to specific student groups based on criteria such as demographic information, program, or student stage
  • Monitors student engagement with communication including open rates, click throughs, and associated behavior
  • Builds and generates regular reports related to communication campaigns and shares with appropriate departments for review and analysis
  • Ensures data accuracy and student lists


Additional Tasks


  • Participates in various working teams with a diverse group of members of the college community
  • Stays current with trends in student communication
  • Provides support to academic programs on an ad hoc basis


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field such as Marketing, Public Relations, Communications (combination of alternative field of study plus related experience will be considered)
  • Creative problem solver

Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous experience in a post-secondary work environment
  • CRM experience
  • Digital engagement experience


Salary AUPE Class Level 11 Step 1 at $30.78 per hour
