Job Description
This main purpose of this role will be to produce and develop compelling content marketing strategies for YouTube and digital live events that support channel growth, audience engagement and brand awareness.


The Content Lead - Video & Live Events plays an essential role in supporting increased brand visibility and building the Lush community. As both a storyteller and a strategist, they will be responsible for overseeing the planning, production, execution and measurement of YouTube and live stream video content from end-to-end. They will have a strong understanding of SEO best practices and can navigate YouTube’s algorithm to increase the visibility of our content. They will work in partnership with the creative and brand marketing teams to deliver the highest quality content, increase engagement and grow our audience.


Core RESPONSIBILITIES will include:


Strategy & Planning


  • Manage the organization, scheduling and publishing of all regional channel content and maintain a content calendar of all video content and live events executed by Lush North America
  • Work in collaboration with the Global YouTube Manager and creative team to develop and produce hero content for the Lush global YouTube channel
  • Develop and execute a content strategy to increase viewership, engagement and sales generated by live shopping events
  • Develop and execute a content strategy to grow the NA regional YouTube channel and increase brand reach via serialized, live and promotional or campaign content
  • Work closely with the brand marketing and creative teams to develop video and live stream content to support marketing campaigns, ethical campaigns, product launches and ‘always on’ content series
  • Ensure all content published is optimized, tagged and published according to best practices to achieve maximum viewership and engagement
  • Develop and execute channel marketing strategy, including paid and organic search, to increase channel reach and subscriber base


Production & Collaboration


  • Collaborate with the Content Lead - Partnerships to develop a creator partnership strategy for YouTube and live events, identifying and securing potential partnerships for both global hub and regional channel content
  • Build trusted relationships with global teams, and other business areas such as retail, digital and ethics, to ensure effective collaboration and source brand storytelling opportunities
  • Work closely with brand marketing, digital and retail teams (globally and locally) to develop cross-channel promotional strategies to achieve content KPIs
  • Provide insightful, objective and relevant feedback to creative teams to ensure delivery on brand marketing strategy and content KPIs
  • Manage production budget per project, ensuring all content is delivered on or under allocated budget
  • Ensure the timely execution and delivery of content briefs to cross-functional teams, in collaboration with Global YouTube Manager and project managers
  • Partner with the Brand Marketing Lead - Community to build channel community and increase content engagement
  • Manage and support content upload in collaboration with content specialist(s) and content coordinator(s)


Reporting


  • Reporting on the impact of ongoing content series, brand campaigns and channel marketing activity - measurement, tracking and reporting of content engagement, traffic to website, ROI on paid search and audience growth
  • Analyze responses to channel content to evaluate effectiveness, using data to optimize content and develop actionable recommendations
  • Report on regional channel performance on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis against channel growth and brand marketing goals, provide feedback or recommendations on hub content performance for global reporting as needed


You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS :


  • Ability to problem-solve, think critically and present effective solutions and out-of-the box ideas
  • Strong strategic-thinking and problem-solving skills, commercially-minded and objective
  • Strong background in social media marketing, content marketing, brand marketing and/or video production
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices and ability to conduct and implement keyword research
  • Strong project management and planning skills, with the ability to manage, prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Tenacity for trying new types of storytelling and taking creative risks
  • Broad understanding of the business and passion for the industry and Lush brand - and drive to help others understand it too
  • Superior communication skills; written and verbal
  • Experience working closely with creative services to develop high-performing video content
  • A strong understanding of the YouTube algorithm, platform capabilities and emerging trends within the creator community
  • Confident in reviewing, analyzing and implementing learnings from market research and consumer trends
  • 3-5 years proven content marketing experience with success in building and executing channel growth strategies for YouTube and/or live streaming platforms (i.e. Twitch)
  • Proven leadership skills; can spearhead new initiatives and motivate others to deliver results
  • Someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, working with and building on others’ ideas as well as coming up with ideas themselves
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact of video content and determine improvements


Location: Role will ideally be located in Vancouver area but open to successful candidate being remote within Canada.
