Job Description
On behalf of our client, Procom is currently seeking a Communication & Engagement Expert for a twelve (12) month engagement based in Vancouver, British Columbia. This client is pleased to offer a remote work model for this role.


Communication & Engagement Expert Job Details


  • Create innovative ways to communicate with clinicians and non-clinicians in respect for the current COVID environment which maintains communication without being invasive or disruptive to the care delivered to patients.
  • Ensure the program intranet site and knowledge management tools are maintained for accuracy and quality on an ongoing basis. Minimum monthly updates made to content to enhance engagement and communication.
  • Develop Communications and Engagement materials (e.g., presentations, 2 pagers) to support delivery of OCM activities at Site and within the Region.
  • In collaboration with the Communications and Engagement Lead, develop the Communications and Engagement Plan in alignment with OCM that outline clear goals, objectives and measures.
  • Ensure Communication and Engagement plans are regularly updated based on program progress and needs and align with OCM, Communication and Engagement strategies.
  • Website/Sharepoint management
  • Partner closely with key program team members to ensure there is a cohesive plan in place that considers the evolving communication and engagement needs of the program.
  • Establish and monitor effectiveness of communications and engagement efforts and being able to pivot and adjust to ensure goals are being met throughout.
  • Support communications and engagement activities which align with OCM activities and establishes feedback loop mechanisms with the community for the Program as required and directed by the Communications and Engagement Lead and the Provider and Clinician Engagement Lead
  • Ensure alignment with Fraser Health Corporate Communications teams’ standards and practices.
  • Lead and drive specific Communications and Engagement activities in alignment with the overall organizational change management plan. Working in alignment with and in collaboration with the Communications and Engagement Lead, leverage change management stakeholder, impact and change readiness assessments for key insights to develop communications content and engagement activities to facilitate the movement from awareness to advocacy. Utilizing the channel assessment, determine best approach to achieve maximum readership and engagement. Visually represent information in an engaging way. Channels may include but not limited to intranet and social media methods.
  • Vetting support resources (e.g. training materials, QRGs, other published documents)
  • Support and collaborate with the Communications and Engagement Lead to uphold communication practices, standards and key messages for the program. Identifies and seeks to resolve any adjustments to or correction on any misalignments
  • Managing relationship with printing vendor, and overseeing the printing requirements for site engagement/readiness and training.


Communication & Engagement Expert Mandatory Skills


  • Worked as part of organizational change management team on large, complex CIS / HIS implementation projects.
  • Must be relationship focused and a strong team builder. Experience in working in large teams within a multi stakeholder environment (e.g., vendors and staff).
  • Leadership and management skills to guide and motivate other staff to assist on communications activities.
  • Microsoft suite, Adobe Illustrator, other graphic design tools.
  • Ability to translate complex clinical and technology concepts into meaningful communication mediums, tailored and appropriate for audience, channel, etc. for Clinical Information System / Hospital Information System Transformation.
  • Strong written and oral communication in a business environment (no exceptions)
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Creative with strong visual communication experience (e.g., executive level presentations that tells a story with crisp graphics).
  • Mentoring and coaching skills to guide and motivate team members.
  • Self-motivated, problem solver and critical thinker.
  • Collaborative and able to work with diverse stakeholder groups at all levels of an organization. Seeks to resolve issues or misunderstandings and lifts team members up for overall team success
  • Web Design Experience (e.g., HTML, WIX, Squarespace, Social Media, WordPress, wireframe development, etc.).


Communication & Engagement Expert Nice-To-Have Skills


  • U/X design experience is an asset.
  • Graphic Designer with Strong U/X skills and experience is an asset.
  • User Empathy and Ethnographic experience is an asset.
  • Digital Agency experience is an asset.
  • Customer / Patient Journey Mapping and User Experience


Communication & Engagement Expert Assignment Length


Twelve (12) month contract with the potential for two (2) extensions of six (6) months each.
