Are you an outstanding, certified Line Haul Driver? If so, then this permanent position in Calgary, AB might be yours. Adecco is currently hiring for a full-time, permanent Extended Length Certified Line Haul Driver, to work for a leader in the transportation in Western Canada. In this role, you will operate a tractor-trailer combination to transport and deliver goods. You will be assigned specific runs by line haul dispatch and are expected to adhere to the assigned route.Pay Rate: Paid by the mile LCV Shifts: 2 separate routes | Monday - Friday |departing at 22:30 or 24:00 (night time) Location: Start and return to Calgary Job type: Full-time | PermanentAdvantages:
Pension contribution and full extended benefits after 90 days Days off on Statutory holidays Overtime availableDuties and Responsibilities: Pulling 48', 53', reefer, heated or dry van trailers, or flat decks Primarily hauling LTL loads Chaining up from time to time Manual lifting, up to 50 lbs Operating a manual or automatic transmission Overseeing secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and regulations Performing trip inspections on equipment operated and load, in compliance with regulations and policies. Checking vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order Maneuvering trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned Reporting vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to fleet and safety personnel Checking all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate Maintaining logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations Providing feedback to supervision regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problemsRequirements and Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is an asset PDIC, Defensive Driving Course & LCV Certification - for LCV certified runs are a must A valid Cass 1 License and extended length certified drivers are required to participate in professional driver improvement courses and long combination vehicle training 2-5 years of Class 1 driving experience is required, including mountain driving experience Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding safe operation of extended lengths, hours of service, and handling of dangerous goods Previous experience pulling flat decks considered is an asset Able to chain up as required Should have strong oral and written communication skills, in English, with a high level of personal integrity and strong work ethic Should have verifiable Mountain Experience, taking routes involving highway 1, highway 93, and highway 95 Should be self-directed, willing to learn, and with a positive attitude at all time Able to perform routine vehicle maintenance Able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate equipment Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada Don't miss out on this Line Haul Driver job in Calgary, AB.
