Log Truck Driver Jobs

Backwoods Energy is seeking Highly Experienced Full-Time Log Haul Truck Drivers for immediate work in the Edson, AB surrounding area.

Wage: Starting at $39.00 / Hour

Living Out Allowance: Up to $150 / Day

Shifts: 12+ Hours, 10/4 Rotation

The Role:

The role of a driver contributes to team success by providing trucking and transportation production logging from block to mill for client locations in northwestern Alberta.

• All other duties as assigned
• Following health and safety and safe work procedures
• Completing all daily paperwork including but not limited to Safety Paperwork, BOL’s, MTS’s etc.
• Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of count sheets and incident reporting
• Performing product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoices
• Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships
• Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over rural routes
• Safe operation of equipment

What We're Looking For:

• Min 3 years of log haul experience (required)
• Safety focused
• Previous professional driving experience is required
• Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions
• Familiarity with Alberta Log Haul guidelines incl. configurations, weights & permits
• Safe operation of a button top for unloading post wood, feeding dowel plant, sorting wood
• Physically fit and able to repeatedly get in/out of equipment and secure loads
• Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency

Training and Certifications Required:

• Load Securement Training Certificate (required)
• Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract
• Standard First Aid with CPR (required)
• CSTS 2020 (required)
• Pre-Trip Inspection Training Certificate (required)
• Hours of Service Training Certificate (required)
• H2S Alive (an asset)
• Ground Disturbance Level II (required)
