Job Description
Backwoods Energy is seeking Highly Experienced Class 1 Drivers with Super-B experience in the Nisku and Edson, AB surrounding areas.


Wage: $38.00 - $45.00 / Hour


Shifts: 10 - 12 Hours, up to 6-7 shifts / Week


The Role:


The role of Class 1 Driver contributes to team success by providing trucking and transportation support of access mats to client locations in northwestern Alberta.


  • Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships
  • Following health and safety and safe work procedures
  • Completing all daily paperwork including but not limited to Safety Paperwork, BOL’s, MTS’s etc.
  • Safe operation of equipment
  • Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over rural routes
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Performing product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoices
  • Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of count sheets and incident reporting


What We're Looking For:


  • Physically fit and able to repeatedly get in/out of equipment and secure loads
  • Previous professional driving experience is required
  • Hours of Service-, Load Securement and Pre-Trip Inspection experience considered an asset
  • Min 2 years of experience operating equipment preferably matting haul experience, hauling Heavy equipment to and from job sites.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency
  • Experience operating Super-Bee setups


Training and Certifications Required:


  • Hours of Service Training Certificate (required)
  • Standard First Aid with CPR (required)
  • Pre-Trip Inspection Training Certificate (required)
  • Ground Disturbance Level II (required)
  • Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract
  • Load Securement Training Certificate (required)
  • H2S Alive (an asset)
  • CSTS 2020 (required)
