About The Opportunity
Sun Peaks Grand Hotel and Sun Peaks Resort have exciting opportunities for full-time Chefs de Partie and Line Cooks, to join our food and beverage team in Sun Peaks, BC.
The Chefs de Partie and Line Cooks will work alongside their peers from all over the world as you create an atmosphere that delivers culinary experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.
As a Chef de Partie, your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for all aspects of food preparation and delivery on assigned station
Responsible for the supervision of all cooks in absence of the Jr. Sous Chef or Sous Chef
Collaborating and communicating with all F&B team members
Supporting the Culinary Management Team in event tastings and special menus
As a Line Cook, your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Operating a designated station in an assigned kitchen
Responsible for all aspects of safe food handling, food preparation, quality and quantity control measures, and execution of dishes
Working on high-volume events with speed and consistency, ensuring quality of all dishes remains high
About You
To qualify as a Chef de Partie, you must have a minimum of two years of culinary experience, preferably within a Hotel/Resort environment. The ideal candidate will also have some production and banquet experience.
To qualify as a Line Cook, you must have a minimum of one-year of culinary experience, preferably within a Hotel/Resort environment.
In addition, as a Chef de Partie and as a Line Cook, you must:
Be working towards a career in culinary or a Red Seal Certification
Hold a current Food Safe Level 1 Certification
Have a well-rounded understanding of kitchen operations
Have a self-disciplined sincere desire to provide an elevated guest experience
Be able to manage how varying business volumes impact kitchen operations
Be physically capable of working in a fast-paced environment and safely lifting heavy loads of around 20kg
