Catering Events Team Member - Cook

OVERVIEW OF POSITION - SPECIAL EVENT TEAM MEMBER:

Impact Kitchen is looking for a team player to fill the seasonal Special Events Team Member position. This role will be responsible for supporting daily Special Events deliveries and events, including travelling to the Event site in Aurora, Ontario, unpacking and setting up daily, running a service of breakfast and lunch with snacks and beverages and wrapping up/cleaning at the end of the day. The successful candidate will be an excellent multitasker that enjoys working alongside a small Special Events Team to provide an exceptional customer experience for our Special Events customers and clients.

SCHEDULE & DURATION:

Must be available to work every weekday, Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM

3-month seasonal position (early June to early September, with opportunity for permanent employment at Impact Kitchen restaurants afterwards)

Paid Training - tentative start date Monday, May 22nd (to be confirmed upon hire)

Daily Special Events - tentative start date Monday, June 19th (to be confirmed upon hire)

LOCATION: St. Andrews College, 15800 Yonge St, Aurora, ON L4G 3H7

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Complete closing duties at the end of each event
• Cleaning, sanitation and maintenance of Special Events serving stations, equipment, and food production spaces
• Travel to Special Events location (Aurora)
• Assist the other Special Events staff as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing to optimize guest experience.
• Help unpack van; set up and break down serving areas; set up daily - Meals, beverages, cutlery, and smallwares needed to effectively serve all food products
• Support with food preparation as requested by the Special Events Manager
• Serve guests their pre-ordered meals and other items, assisting with food, drink, and nutritional inquiries, while providing above & beyond service
• Accomplish all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift
• Report any unsafe condition, unsafe act, accidents and/or injuries to the Special Events Kitchen Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Hospitality-related kitchen or front-of-the-house experience preferred
• Self-motivated with a high energy level
• Strict adherence to company, municipal and provincial guidelines as they are related to food safety and safe workplace environments
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask when required
• Able to lift up to 50 LBS
• Able to work in both a standing and a sitting position for extended periods of time
• Ability to execute and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional Customer service skills
• Food Handlers Certificate is an asset but not required
• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully while working well with others in a team-based setting
