This Role:

Our team is currently seeking a self-guided but collaborative Buyer to support our production facility in Nobel, Ontario. This is a full-time, on-site position at that facility reporting to our Procurement Manager.

What You Will Do:

The buyer is responsible for acquiring all of the raw and component materials for the production facility that they support as well as ensuring that those materials are of high quality and are acquired within set parameters at a competitive price.

How You Will Do It:

Attain and maintain appropriate inventory levels of raw materials and supply items:

• Partner with engineering, production teams when there are changes to products/BOMs
• Investigate and report on inventory discrepancies

Purchase order management:

• Maintenance of material reorder process (plus identification of areas for improvement)
• Generation of PO’s
• Effective follow-through to track on-time delivery

Serve as successful liaison between Duravent and vendors/suppliers:

• Create/maintain contact information, including account numbers and order processes for each vendor
• Meet with new/existing vendors to discuss existing/future business (including any supply issues and cost reduction opportunities)
• Communicate with vendors regarding requested dates of incoming orders to meet production demand
• Research pricing of services and materials through alternative vendors, proactively pursue strategies to increase efficiency and savings (i.e. increase order frequency to decrease order quantity, etc.)

Invoice management:

• Tracking credits due from vendors for returned goods
• Checking accuracy of invoices against Pos
• Timely processing

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking candidates who:

• Have current and valid Canadian work authorization without requiring future sponsorship (required)
• Have experience in high volume shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes (strongly preferred)
• Have MRP, ERP, and Excel proficiency (required)
• Have previous purchasing experience (required) within a manufacturing or production environment (strongly preferred)
