The Group Underwriting Best Practice Analyst’s main responsibility is to support the various tasks and projects, with a strong emphasis on systems integration, processes, and tools. To succeed in this role, the analyst will need to develop deep understanding of the available resources and technologies used in Group Underwriting, both internally and externally, and coordination with IT department for continuous improvement.


Main Responsibilities :


  • Supporting Group Underwriting leadership team to align processes and tools (Renewal Template system integration, Quote Template system integration, the execution of Group Underwriting Best Practice roadmap)
  • Acting as a liaison with other internal partners (i.e., EIS, Finance, IT, Admin, Sales) to ensure that the group underwriting system is accurate, reliable, and interoperable with other systems
  • Providing excellent service to all users of the system.
  • Continuously reviewing and evaluating the system to identify areas for improvement
  • Analyzing the group underwriting system, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with the system


Required Qualifications:


  • Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree with a focus in Business Administration, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year in Group Underwriting experience including knowledge of systems and processes. Experience in system integration and implementation, preferably related to group benefits would be considered.
  • Certifications: GBA would be an asset


Knowledge and Skills:


  • Teamwork: The analyst must be able to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with other analysts, developers, and stakeholders to achieve common goals. The analyst should be able to take constructive feedback and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Technical knowledge: The analyst must understand the group underwriting system, its components, and how it interacts with other systems. The analyst should be familiar with programming languages, databases, and software development methodologies. The analyst should have experience with system design and implementation, including requirements gathering, testing, and deployment.
  • Skills: The analyst must be able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders, including technical and non-technical staff. The analyst should be able to explain technical concepts in simple terms and tailor their communication style to different audiences.


Language : Bilingualism (French and English) would be an asset
