Backend Visbroker Developer (Java Upgrade)

Davies group is working with a Global Tier 1 Banking business who are seeking are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Visbroker Developer to join their project team and assist in upgrading our Java-based Visbroker system. As a backend developer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the performance, scalability, and reliability of our existing software infrastructure.

Role: Backend Visbroker Developer

Contract Length: 3 months Initially, FTC or CTC (High chance of extension)

Location: Hybrid Working Model - 2/3 days on site (Toronto or GTA)

Salary: Highly Competitive Hourly Rate

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze the current system architecture and identify areas for improvement, including performance optimizations, bug fixes, and security enhancements.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Develop high-quality and efficient Java code while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
• Upgrade and maintain our existing Java-based Visbroker system to ensure it meets the latest industry standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, database administrators, and system architects, to design and implement efficient and scalable backend solutions.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, providing timely resolutions and ensuring minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team in developing and executing test plans to ensure software stability and functionality.

Requirements:

• Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
• Strong proficiency in Java development, frameworks, and libraries, with at least 5 years of experience in backend development.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, with a passion for continuous learning and professional growth.
• In-depth knowledge of Java EE, Spring framework, and other related tools and technologies.
• Extensive experience in upgrading and maintaining Java-based systems, with a focus on increasing performance, scalability, and security.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and troubleshoot complex software systems.
