About The Role
We’re very proud of our customer loyalty and our rapid growth. Concurrent with this growth is the need to scale our platform, expand the surface area of integrations, deliver high-quality and timely features, and generally contend with an increasingly complex technical ecosystem. Search is front and center to our customers' experience. It’s critical for us to surface the right documents and contents to customers with the least effort.
As a Sr. Backend Engineer in Search, you will work with the team to improve search relevance, recommendations and search experience as a whole. You will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to understand search-related problems and requirements to architect and develop efficient and scalable solutions. You will review, analyze, maintain, and optimize existing search implementations. We're looking for highly motivated individuals who work well in a team-oriented, iterative, and fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do

• Partner cross-functionally with UX and Product Management to create end-to-end experience that customers love
• Help design and develop new product features and functionality.
• Develop highly-available distributed services, including improving existing systems.
• Write maintainable and testable code
• Experiment with different techniques to improve search quality.
• Contribute to internal and external technical documentation

Your Background

• Demonstrable experience with relevance tuning, experiment and optimization.
• Strong understanding of enterprise search, search architecture.
• Experience working with cloud services, preferably AWS.
• Experience with search ranking and machine learning is a big plus.
• Solid experience with search and related technologies such as Solr, ElasticSearch or Lucene.
• Experience with distributed systems, REST API design & development
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience, not including internships/co-ops
