Your Role:
The Intermediate Java Developer is a member of a small, highly focused Key Management Service (KMS) team, responsible for building secure login functionality for our highly scalable and robust suit of message and archiving products, using leading edge technologies. This is an opportunity to work alongside some of the best Java developers in BC and apply your craft in an environment that encourages creative thinking and autonomy. Tech Stack:

• Specialized encryption hardware
• Databases (PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, Cassandra)
• CI/CD Build tools: Maven, Git, Jenkins
• Languages (Java)
• Spring Boot Framework
• Micro-services Container Platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker)
• Ansible Automation Framework

Your Job:

• Implement and support a business-critical software key management service
• Participate in knowledge sharing activities with colleagues
• Collaborate with product owners on user story generation and refinement
• Work as part of an agile development team to write quality code for enterprise services
• Pair programming and peer reviews
• Monitor and support the operation of production systems
• Collaborate with testers in development of test cases
• Write unit tests for your Java code
• Support CI/CD pipeline for Java based systems

About You:

• Experience with web services technology such as REST, JSON, or Thrift
• Experience with any of the following is an asset:
• Security, Authentication, Authorization, or Cryptography
• Application performance tuning
• Familiar with multi-threaded programming and with design patterns
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Soft real-time systems
• Cloud computing, virtualization and containerization
• Experience with test driven development
• Experience with service oriented architecture
• Experience with dependency injection containers
• Experience with continuous integration systems
• 2-4 years of Java Developer experience
• Experience with network protocols such as HTTP, TLS, TCP
• Software Key Management services
