You will participate in the execution of the local and regional manufacturing process automation strategies of the ELIP division. You will be fully responsible for a first major project for your manufacturing site, in addition to being part of an inter-factory team of experts who will work on a project common to all sites. The foundations of this team will be based on collaboration, sharing of best practices and knowledge, in order to achieve the common objectives, as well as those of each manufacturing site. Contribute to operational excellence by driving the effective use of new technologies and automated solutions!
Your responsibilities
  • Search for various robotization or automation options within ABB, as well as externally.
  • Participate in the testing and commissioning of the systems.
  • Use and improve the internal working methods and procedures.
  • Carry out the technology watch.
  • Collaborate with members of other disciplines, as well as with the person in charge of the inter-factory experts team.
  • Manage the projects from planning to implementation and evaluation of the effectiveness of the solutions, while ensuring change management with all stakeholders, risk assessment in collaboration with the HSE team, follow-up with the suppliers, and coaching of the subcontractors.
  • Define the project and objectives, whether for the automation of material movement (AGV/AMR), the use of COBOT, or the implementation of bin picking.
  • Draw up specifications and plans.
  • Analyze and present the most robust solutions, including costs, internal and external resources, timetable.
  • Design automated systems and select hardware (control, instrumentation, motor controls, control panel design, etc.), and/or program automatons and user interfaces.
Your background
  • Be available to travel in the Montreal and South Shore area.
  • Be goal-oriented.
  • Demonstrate curiosity, innovation, initiative, and team spirit.
  • Have appropriate experience in the design of electrical diagrams and circuits in the industrial field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the field of industrial automation.
  • Bachelor's degree in robotics engineering or automated production, or equivalent.
  • Communication skills, bilingualism is an asset.
  • Have experience in programming automatons.
  • Knowledge of AutoCad Electrical (asset).
