Assistant Superintendent Jobs

Torus Talent’s medium sized client is currently looking for an Assistant Superintendent to join their team on a full-time basis in Delta, BC. This person will have the opportunity to supervise on new construction and tenant improvements for various ICI projects located around the Greater Vancouver area. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys executing high quality projects. This role offers great training for Foreman and Assistant Superintendents that want a bit of time to get up to speed.

Position Overview:

This person will be directly responsible for supervising industrial/commercial construction projects through to completion. This person will ensure projects are complete on time while maintaining budget. High safety, quality and production standards are a must. The Site Superintendent will report to and maintain relations with the Project Manager, Project Coordinator, and sub-contractors.

Further Responsibilities Include the Following:

• Manage RFI submittals and Change Orders
• Manage HSE onboarding and compliance
• Review all work drawings and identify conflicts and issues in advance
• Ensure project construction is executed in a safe, timely and efficient manner
• Confirm project is being built as per drawings and specifications
• Liaise with all stakeholders
• Conduct regular site meetings with consultants and sub trades as necessary
• Create schedules and assist sub trades to comply and maintain productivity
• Monitor and maintain the project construction schedule on a regular basis
• Ensure that all finishes are to the Company’s and industry standards

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience working on projects valued up to $5M +
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in ICI construction projects
• Degree or Diploma in Construction Management or Engineering
• Minimum 2 years' experience on local projects
