Job Description
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Assistant Front End Manager to join our Root Cellar team! As an Assistant Front End Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Front-End Manager in overseeing the departments daily operations, including delegating tasks, training and developing employees, providing exemplary customer service, modelling our Core Values and enforcing store policies, reconciling daily cash deposits, and maintaining a clean and appealing storefront. Our ideal candidate will thrive in a busy customer-facing retail environment and be passionate about providing exceptional customer service.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:


  • Lead, manage and inspire the Front-End Team to ensure a positive and memorable customer experience.
  • Support a coaching and development culture for all employees, which embraces a passion for food.
  • Handle all customer concerns and complaints effectively and positively, ensuring beneficial results.
  • Accurately perform daily cash reconciliation duties according to store procedures.
  • Effectively respond to challenging situations positively and professionally, providing solutions and proposing new ideas.
  • Maintain store and display signage to the company standards.
  • Execute the training and development of the Front-End Team to maintain the highest level of team productivity, enthusiasm, and commitment to outstanding customer service.
  • Ensure optimum daily staffing levels to meet the operational requirement.
  • Support Team Member reviews, and all related Human Resource duties.
  • Supervise 8-12 cashiers daily in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ensure Team Member accountability, efficiency, and adherence to operating procedures.

  • High level of self-accountability, and an appreciation for details & organization
  • Outstanding leadership skills; you are a role model for the department and all other stores Team Members.
  • Strength in written and verbal business communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience in a grocery or retail environment.
  • A passion for food and a love for fast-paced work environments.
  • Demonstrates discretion, integrity, both open & fair-mindedness, and functions well under pressure.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, ability to manage time efficiently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of hours including days, evenings and weekends.
