Job Description
This position is a part of the Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA).

Working for the Department/Faculty


The Office of Alumni Relations designs and delivers programs that engage alumni and foster lifelong connections with the university. Through community building activities, alumni become informed, involved, and give back through volunteerism, mentorship and giving.


Position


Working closely with the Program Lead, Alumni Recognition and Officer, Alumni Career Services the Assistant, Alumni Recognition & Career Services, provides administrative support to help ensure the successful planning, implementation and evaluation of programs within these two portfolios. Programs assisted by this role , such as the annual Alumni awards, mentorship , and professional development grants support the Alumni Association’s goal of strengthening relationships between alumni and their alma mater.


Duties


  • A ssists with the implementation of the awards ceremony, car eer related events and webinars
  • S upport volunteer intake and management for the Mentorship program
  • O rganize the call for nominations and support the selection process for the Alumni Awards program
  • L iaise with alumni award recipients to gather information needed to celebrate their achievements
  • A dminister the Ualberta Alu mni LinkedIn account platform including approving membership requests and approving posts
  • Manage the selection process for the Professi onal Development Grants program to determine who will receive funding


Minimum Qualifications


  • Extensive knowledge of common office computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite and Google applications including Calendar and Docs and Drive
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with high level of attention to detail
  • Mininum two years of experience providing program support
  • Minimum of a diploma in a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with confidential and sensitive information
  • An ability to work independently and manage competing priorities


Preferred Qualifications


  • A university degree is preferred
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite an asset
