Arcadis IBI Group is calling for Architects to join our busy and growing Architectural practice in Western Canada. You will have the opportunity to work with offices and projects across Alberta and British Columbia. This position will be a member of our multi-disciplinary team and will collaborate with design and technical leadership and be an integral part of project teams. As part of our Living+ Studio, you will be involved primarily in high-rise residential and mixed-use projects and have an impact on the urban environment.


This job opportunity will be located in western Canada.


Most of the Things you’ll be working on:


  • Create designs from concept through to working drawings
  • Organize and lead user group, client stakeholder and consultants’ meetings
  • SketchUp models and Revit models, presentation drawings and renderings
  • Work with or lead other team members from other IBI offices
  • Resolve complex design and technical issuesWork with Project Director
  • Prepare Rezoning, DP and BP applications
  • Work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Coordinate with in-house and external structural, mechanical, electrical, civil and other consultants
  • Prepare meeting minutes and project schedules
  • Prepare conceptual design packages and follow through to working drawings
  • Prepare proposals, fee letters, and additional service requests
  • Work with clients and user groups to develop concepts during schematic design and design development meetings


Qualifications


You’ll need to have:


  • Proficient in Rhino and Grasshopper is an asset
  • Master’s degree in Architecture and/or a recognized Institution by the AIBC or AAA
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience as a project architect, with a focus on multi-family residential high-rise / mid rise mixed-use project
  • Parametric design skill is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • LEED & Passive House certification preferred
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship-management skills
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Photoshop, InDesign and various graphic software
  • A registered architect with the AIBC or AAA
  • Contract administration experience is an asset
  • Highly collaborative and a strong team player
  • Mid-rise wood-frame design and construction knowledge
  • Experience leading design and working drawing phases
  • Ability to understand how buildings are constructed and to create design and technical documents that succinctly describe the design and work to be done
  • Familiar with the local Zoning, Policies, Building Code requirements
