Applied Technology Researchers (400 positions)
(Various technology specializations)
Job location: Over 60 Canadian locations
Positions open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents, as well as international candidates holding valid Canadian Post Graduate Work Permits.
We are seeking candidacies from graduating students, recent graduates, early and mid-career professionals interested in pursuing an applied research career in the technology industry.
Candidates will be required to complete the 11-week Technology Experiential Learning Program (TELP) internship, which will provide practical, hands-on learning experiences, mentorship and career coaching, and the opportunity to develop in-demand skills that employers worldwide value.
Delivered in partnership with over 60 leading applied innovation hubs across Canada, participants work directly with employers to solve real-world innovation challenges. Participants will gain meaningful skills in the technology sector, expand their professional network, learn latest industry trends, and explore potential employment pathways in the technology sector.
Upon completion of the internship program, the program participants and employers explore opportunities to provide pathway into full-time roles for the participants.
Candidates will specialize in one of the following technology specializations:
Digital Technologies | Medical Devices | Water Technologies | Security Technologies | Digital Media | Cybersecurity | Aerospace | Biotechnology | Construction | Clean and Environmental Technologies | Forestry | Manufacturing | Food Innovation | Mining
About the 11-week program:
Participants will complete a 3-week virtual orientation, followed by a 8-week onsite internship at one of the 60 leading applied innovation hubs. They will be matched with an applied research project with an employer, who is being enabled by the applied innovation hub.
Note: Each applied innovation hub is tied to one of the technology specializations. Where possible, candidates will be matched to an applied innovation hub near their residence, however, candidates may be required to relocate for the 8-week onsite applied research internship depending on the specialization.
The 11-week Technology Experiential Learning Program (TELP) fee is: C$4,000 + HST. Participants receive a $1,000 monthly stipend (if eligible to work in Canada) or an accommodation subsidy. Participants are also eligible to receive a $2,000 credit if they are successfully placed through the program (solely at the discretion of potential employers.)
This program is being administered by the Ottawa Education Group (OEG), in partnership with Canadian universities, colleges, industry, and government.
Candidacies will be screened by the Ottawa Education Group.
Successful candidates will then be referred to an applied innovation hub and matched with an employer research project.
