Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx's Innovation and Information Technology group supports female team members via "Go Tech Women" an affinity group for women in Information Technology, led by our Chief Information Officer.
We are currently recruiting for two (2) Application Analysts on 7 months contract. One of the role will be reporting to the Technical Release Manager, I&IT Service Delivery – Enterprise Applications, Shared Services and the other role will report to Senior Portfolio Delivery Manager, I&IT Digital Delivery to support the design, testing, implementation, maintenance, investigation, troubleshooting, and ongoing improvements of applications. You will be involved in on-call support rotation for important applications and responding to emergency on call issues.
What will I be doing?

• Prepare and maintain detailed functional and technical specifications and develop required computer programs and data interfaces to corporate standards
• Author and maintain detailed disaster recovery documentation including development changes and modifications
• Provide recommendations, implement solutions for more efficient DevOps processes
• Provide second level response to incidents and problems escalated by the service desk including independently resolving and documenting assigned incidents or problems
• Prepare and maintain all application support documentation (e.g. application process support workflow, administration, maintenance, and support documentation)
• Install, configuring, patching, coordinating, and implementing changes to assigned applications
• Ensure that application maintenance and security patching follows internal cybersecurity procedures

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

• Knowledge of computer science field with emphasis on computer software design normally attained through completion of a three-year community college program or equivalent length of experience.
• Minimum three years related work experience providing a background in the analysis, design and development of systems
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written are necessary
• Have good knowledge of current operating systems and toolsets
• Have excellent knowledge of the principles and practices of systems development and demonstrate the ability to develop systems for the entire design and delivery process
• You have well developed consulting and problem-solving skills
