Aircraft Maintenance Technician – Mechanics (Licensed And Unlicensed)

Position Profile

We are currently recruiting for an Aircraft Maintenance Technician - (Licensed & Unlicensed) to join our team in Calgary, AB.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Have a basic understanding of other aircraft systems i.e. hydraulic, flight controls and major components.
• Perform other work as assigned and willing to work shift work.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Mechanics systems and equipment, including powerplant, flight control, hydraulic, landing gear and electrical.
• Responsible to the assigned leader and have ability to take direction verbally and through printed media.
• Safely operate ground support equipment, i.e., Power carts, lifts (when properly trained), etc. as required.
• Perform system checks and inspections to ensure Mechanics systems are in compliance with industry and safety standards.
• Basic knowledge of Standard Practices and Mechanics Systems, accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, engineering orders, test documents, manufacturer’s installation manuals.
• Responsible for ensuring both accuracy and traceability of parts removed or installed on Aircraft.
• Qualified to perform systems installation tasks under the supervision of a licensed Maintenance Technician in a AMO environment.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and maintain inventory of tools and equipment.
• Properly utilize Maintenance test equipment to perform systems tests. Properly utilize and maintain Mechanics hand tools to perform installations and repairs.
• Maintain a clean work area and alert the leadership team of any safety concerns; take immediate action or report immediately any unsafe conditions.

Education & Experience

• Good oral and written communication skills
• Shall hold or working towards a current AME “M” Transport Canada license or related experience.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Internet
• Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with all De Havilland Aircraft of Canada products consider an asset.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
• Ability to acquire a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
