3D Senior Surfacing Artist

We are looking for a Senior 3D Surfacing Artist who will works with the 3D Assets team to establish the look and qualities of characters, props, and environments for assigned assets.

Job Responsibilities

• Fully create and manage the UVs / Texture / Develop Shaders to be used in Production
• Work closely with the CG Supervisors to create the look and qualities of characters, props, and environments for assigned assets
• Ensure that deadlines are met by making sure Surfacing files are complete and ready for lighting throughout the project
• Mentor and guide other junior artists
• Take direction from VFX and CG Supervisors to create quality surfacing work
• Provide continuous updates about any changes or problems about the project with the CG Supervisors
• Maintain on a daily basis files names and structures by adhering to the digital file management system.

Qualifications

• A team player with excellent communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of the following: Maya, Redshift, Vray, Zbrush, Mudbox, or Photoshop, Mental Ray, Mari, Substance Painter/Designer, NUKE
• Strong painting skills and an artistic eye for detail
• Legal to work for any employers in Canada
• 5+ years experience in a live-action VFX Environment
• Lighting skills and some experience with MEL Scripting is an asset
• A thorough understanding of both feature film and television VFX production pipelines.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and problem solve in a fast paced environment
• Strong UV-ing skills
