Water Field Technician Jobs

2+ years of experience in water and wastewater systems maintenance and repair

Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques used in water and wastewater systems maintenance and repair

Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to working with water and wastewater systems

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with a variety of stakeholders such as engineers and customers

High school diploma or equivalent

Ability to diagnose and solve problems with water distribution and wastewater collection systems

No office to report to – this is a fully remote, field-based position.

Bachelor of Science degree, Engineer or Technical degree or equivalent with at least 5 (Five) years of hands-on experience.

Ability to meet the travel expectation of the role: up to 70% travel with occasional higher travel requirements.

Travel required is estimated to be 70% with occasional higher travel requirements.

Commissioning, Aftermarket Service, Mobile Water Maintenance, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)

Grade 12 education or equivalent College or University diploma

Prior plumbing experience is considered an asset

Prior maintenance experience is considered an asset

Operation and monitoring of mobile water treatment system(s)

Collect incoming water samples, record volumes and receiver information

Perform bench testing of incoming water to determine appropriate water treatment process

· Highly organized with excellent time management skills

· Technical skills and experience in the areas of mechanical, plumbing and electrical an asset

· Complete all required follow up requirements as needed

· Must have water treatment experience

· Professional written/verbal communication and people skills

· Computer skills and familiarity with commonly used software programs (Outlook, Excel)

Install Instrumentation systems and other responsibilities as required;

Minimum 2 years’ experience, preferably in open pit mining;

Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Database, Windows), GPS, Total Station, CAD Systems and other mining software;

Strong verbal and written skills;

Geotechnical Instrumentation and Hydrologic or hydrogeologic experience is an asset.

Experience with Auto-titrators, Ion Chromatography, ICP-OES, Wet Chemistry

Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions

Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal

Calibrate, operate, maintain and troubleshoot intermediate instruments

Compile, verify and validate accurate data records

Strong sales analysis and forecasting experience.

Experience overcoming objections and closing the accounts.

Must be self-managed, self-motivated and extremely well organized.

Ability to prioritize activities and work in the field with limited supervision. Ability to work under pressure and meet quarterly goals

Ability to sell on value of a product versus price.

Ability to understand technical products and/or issues.

Monitor and control the water treatment facility to ensure performance objectives are achieved and reporting requirements are met

Diploma or degree in Engineering or Sciences, or an equivalent combination of training and water treatment experience

Previous experience with Programmable Logic Controllers and Human Machine Interface systems is considered an asset

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures

Ensure compliance with British Columbia legislation as it relates to mine water treatment facilities

Conduct sampling and support third party contractors on the collection, preparation, and delivery of samples to the laboratory, including hazardous waste
